Setting: A Secondary School

Performance System:

  • OL Implication: Employ the experienced teacher and prepare a good syllabus for the student.

Learning System

  • Act: Analyze the syllabus that apporpriate for the student and design more suitable classwork for them.
  • OL Implication: Judge the syllabus and held more group discussion with the teacher that analyze the teaching plan.

After I take the lesson, I have through the example for the General System of Action. I through that Secondary School are similar to the trading company of the notes. The performance of the student are important for the college that can attract more student to choose the school for the secondary school study.

The Coordination subsystem and Reinforcement subsystem that in the performance subsystem. These two subsystem that i think are apporpriate to the secondary school in this case. For the coordination subsystem is a integration function. It include management control, job design, career development, these are suitable for the teaching planing of the school. It can the school to maxizium it's resources. And the reinforcement subsystem is a pattern maintenance. It include appraisal, rewards, feedback that can help the school to analyze the syllabus of the HKCEE or HKAL, also can maintain the classwork or others teaching mentials are suitable for student to help them for well performance.

How do you learn? How do you know that you learnt?

These two questions are Ms. Waltraut Ritter ask that last week in the Organizational Learning Seminar. She told us a lot of her views in Knowledge Management and Organization Learning. And she thinks that Organization Learning is become out dated and an organization need more to do knowledge management for them operation.

For the first question, "How do you learn?” this question always bring in my mind that I don't think that I have found a good way to learn in my study. Most of the time I just read the text and keep them in my mind but I always forget what I have in my mind. I like to listen people share them knowledge and experience. And their knowledge or experience always can strongly keep in my mind; also I can use this knowledge to solve my daily problems. So that learn from other not just can help in the individual work, also it can help the organization to increase their employee capacity. Organization can through the HRM to enhance some discuss meeting to learn together with them work experience or the problem what they faced.

"How do you know that you learnt?” Ha this question always asked from my teacher and parents. And my answer is "If the knowledge I can tell and apply in my life that is what I learnt!!" Do you think its right? It is because we learnt something is for our life what we can use, such as you learnt how to make a cake that in the following day you can make a cake by yourselves and eat them. Another example is you learnt how to drive that you can drive the car with you friends or parents. In our daily life we are continuously to learn and I know that I learnt because I can use the knowledge.

In an organization, there have many employee and they have their own knowledge. And organization need to find what they have learnt and what they can do, and then it can achieve the effective operation that can help the organization and their goal.

TGMS-Third Generation Mobilizing System

Last week our class have visited The HK Fire Services Department ITMU. We got some knowledge on the Third Generation Mobilizing System. The existing mobilizing system that the Fire Services Communication Center operates is the Second Generation Mobilizing System which has been used for about ten years. Because of the growth in the number of emegency calls, the increasing sophistication of emergency service natures, and the development of more complex mobilizing procedures have all led to the demand fore a more powerful mobilizing system. The new system - TGMS will provide a state-of-the-art command and control system for efficient mobilization of fire and ambulance resources to scenes of emergencies. It will adopt an open system design for system flexibility and expandability, such that it will enable the Department to meet the target dispatch time.

Also we have visited the the Fire Services Communication Center, in the center all the staff working efficiency and we have seen how the system working efficiency with the staff.

After visited I hope a day I can work in the Fire Services Communication Center because I have already liked this job. And this TGMS have comprising 21 sub-systems, it will help improve fire-fighting and rescue operations by enhancing the identification, location and mobilization of resources, also TGMS's automation features will improve the efficiency in information exchange by means of graphics and text transmission through a wireless digital network.

At the last lesson, we have learnt Kolb Learning Cycle that David Kolb set out four distinct learning styles, which are based on a four-stage learning cycle. Which is feeling, watching, thinking and doing. After that he also suggested that three development stages: for the acquisition stages, it birth to adolescence that the development of basic abilities and 'cognitive structures'. Such as, the cetacean's eyes are set well back and to either side of its huge head. This means that cetaceans with pointed have good binocular vision forward and downward but others, with blunt heads can see either side but not directly ahead or directly behind. Tear glands secrete greasy tears, which protect the eyes from the salt in the water. Cetaceans also have an almost global lens in their eyes, which is most efficient at focusing what little light there is in the deep waters. Cetaceans make up for their generally quite poor vision with excellent hearing. Even cetaceans' eyes can't see well in the deep waters but they have other basic way to help them to satisfy this problem.

Learning at Individual Level

In the week two lesson, i have learnt learning at individual level is about operational and conceptual. In operational, acquisition of skill or know how like the produce physical action, such as the steps to make a cheese cake. Also in conceptual, acquisition of know-why to articulate an understanding of experience, such as we know when we feel sick that we need to drink more water^^. And it can increase one's capacity to take effective action.

This is a funny clip about a baby feel sleepy but I want to say is, when we were young, did we learnt how to sleep or sleep where? My answer is I can sleep when I feel sleepy and I can sleep anywhere now...we seem no need to learn about how to sleep and the steps to sleep. And I have a question, in VAK Learning Styles, which learners can be appropriate to this case? Visual Learners? Is it when we was young we take in information best with our eyes that we know how to sleep? Auditory Learners, Is it we use our ears to take in information that we need to sleep because at that moment we are sleepy? Or Kinesthetic Learners that we need to move our bodies to keep our brains fully functioning?

Finally, it seems we feel tired and sleepy that we will fall asleep, and our parents will put us to the bed when we are baby that we have learnt when we sleep we need to go to bed. And we grow up, that because of the environment we find a place for us to sleep that we use our experience which place can sleep well, we used our eyes, ears and body to get these knowledge for our place to sleep^^ Well...times to sleep now. I can find my best place to sleep~~ my bed is asking me to sleep^^

街工請願促創造就業
(星島)2月1日 星期日 14:37
街坊工友服務處20多名代表,由中環 匯豐總行出發,遊行到政府總部請願,要求政府創造就業職位,並設立全民養老金、落實最高工時及最低工資。

Today i have read a news about the unemployment of Hong Kong, as we know we are facing the financial crisis that woresening economy of Hong Kong. A breakdown of the industrial production figues shows most key industries witnessed sharp declines. The sharp decline was a concern and the government was taking measures to shorten the period of the downturn, and intended to maintain steady and rapid economic growth. Although we still a student and staying that the unemployment is not a big problem about us but it is the time for us to think about this because after we finished our study that we need to find our job. Also mainland's economic downturn is worening, factory output grew last month at its most anaemic pace in more than a decade and money supply growth slowly as well. And this problem will be continous for the few years and this is a greate gobalization problem. Is these policy is help for us and these can improve our life ? we need to think about them...
